Questions
Does Billi hold or move my money?+
No. Billi only keeps track of who owes whom. When you settle, Billi opens your own UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm…) with the amount filled in — the payment happens there, between you and your friend.
Do my friends need the app?+
No. Add anyone by phone number. They can see what they owe when they join later, and Billi can send them a polite WhatsApp reminder from you in the meantime (at most twice a week).
How does bill scanning work?+
Take a photo of the bill. Billi uses Google's Gemini AI to read the items, taxes and service charge, then you tap who had what. You can edit every line before saving, and failed scans don't count toward your monthly limit.
How are taxes and service charge split?+
In proportion to what each person ordered. If you had a ₹360 dish and your friend had ₹180, you carry twice their share of the GST. Every paisa adds up exactly to the bill.
Is it free?+
Yes. Everything in Billi is free right now.
Can I delete my data?+
Yes — from Profile → Delete account in the app, or on the delete-account page here. Your personal data goes; shared group history stays (as “Deleted user”) so your friends' balances don't change.
